A 30 day advertising placement on outbidmytesla.com. Your logo appears on the 3D Model Y on the home page, linked out to a URL you supply, and you are tagged in social posts the operator makes about the vehicle while your placement is live. That is the entire offer. Nothing here is a guarantee of impressions, clicks, traffic, sales or revenue.
A standard placement is digital: your logo on the vehicle rendered on outbidmytesla.com, linked to your URL. A physical placement, priced at ten times the digital price, additionally means a printed sticker applied to the actual vehicle within 14 days of approval, and a photograph of it sent to you. Physical placements carry that delivery obligation; digital ones do not.
The Plate is a personalised California registration plate on the actual vehicle. The buyer supplies up to three character combinations of two to seven characters. The operator submits them to the California DMV in the buyer’s stated order of preference. The DMV, not the operator, decides which combinations are permitted, and commonly refuses configurations that are already issued or that it considers offensive. If every submitted combination is refused, the buyer is refunded in full. Personalised plates typically take around twelve weeks to be issued; the digital plate on the site is updated immediately on approval. The plate remains on the vehicle for as long as the operator owns it. The operator will not knowingly submit a combination that is misleading, impersonates another party, or would breach DMV rules.
Every placement is reviewed by hand before it goes live. The operator may reject any advertiser for any reason, including adult content, gambling, weapons, tobacco, illegal products, hate speech, political campaigns, impersonation of another brand, and anything that would breach advertising law. A rejected bid is refunded in full within five business days and no placement is made.
A placement may be taken over by another advertiser at any time during its term by paying twice the price the current holder paid. If your placement is taken over you will be notified by email. Takeovers are not refunded: you keep the exposure already delivered, and you may re-bid at the new price. The Plate is exempt: it is sold once and cannot be taken over.
Placements run 30 days from the date of approval, not the date of payment. At the end of the term the placement returns to the board at its current market price. The Plate does not expire and remains for as long as outbidmytesla.com operates; it is not a perpetual commitment beyond the life of the site, and no refund is owed if the site is discontinued. The operator will make reasonable efforts to keep the site up but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
All sales are final, with three exceptions. First, if your bid is rejected you are refunded in full, because payment was taken and nothing was delivered. Second, if you paid for a physical placement and the sticker is not applied to the vehicle within 14 days of approval, you may request a full refund. Third, if you bought The Plate and the DMV refuses every combination you supplied, you are refunded in full. Outside those three cases there are no refunds, including where you are outbid shortly after purchase. Contact hello@outbidmytesla.com and anything genuinely unfair will be handled reasonably.
The operator’s total liability to any advertiser is capped at the amount that advertiser paid. The site is provided as is. Advertisers are responsible for holding the rights to any logo or mark they submit, and grant the operator a licence to display it on this site and in related social content for the duration of the term.
